Introduction to Power BI Service
What is Power BI Service?
• Power BI Service is an online platform where you can publish, share, and collaborate on reports and dashboards created in Power
BI Desktop. It allows you to access your reports from anywhere using a web browser.
• Why Use Power BI Service? It helps you:
o Share Reports: Easily share your reports with others in your organization.
o Collaborate: Work with teammates on the same reports in real-time.
o Schedule Data Refresh: Automatically update your reports with the latest data.
Steps to Login Power BI Service for Free(1 month trial):
1. Click on this link below to Sign up for 1 month free trial of power bi service:

2. Enter your email address and click on the “Next” button. And click on Setup an account.
3. Enter your details like name, job title, phone number, company size (e.g. 1), country and click Next.
4. Enter your phone number and click on Send verification code. Enter the code that you received on your phone and click on verify.
5. Copy or Save username and domain name provided (e.g. someone@some123.onmicrosoft.com), and create a password, copy it and click next(*Do not enter any payment related information and just close the tab).
6. Open a new tab and search for Microsoft fabric free, click on first link(i.e. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-fabric/getting-started) and click on Try for free.
7. Enter the email provided by Microsoft (e.g. someone@some123.onmicrosoft.com) and enter password.
8. Choose the country and enter your phone number and click on Get Started.

1. Home Page
o “New Report” Button (Top Left): Create a new report directly from the home page.
o Recommended Section: Displays suggested reports and dashboards for easy access.
2. Navigation Pane (Left Sidebar):
o Home: Brings you to this main page.
o Create: Start building new dashboards, reports, or dataflows.
o Browse: Explore your reports, dashboards, and datasets.
o OneLake: Access and manage data storage in OneLake.
o Apps: View apps that group related dashboards and reports.
o Metrics: Track goals and KPIs for your organization.
o Workspaces: Collaborate with your team on shared content.
o My Workspace: Your personal area to save and work on content.
3. Header Bar (Top):
o Search Bar: Quickly find specific content.
o Notification Bell: View alerts or updates.
o Settings Gear: Access account settings.
o Help (?) Icon: Find help resources or contact support.
o Profile Icon: Manage your user profile or sign out.
4. Bottom Bar (Recent, Favourites, etc.):
o Recent: Access your recently used content.
o Favourites: Quickly open saved favourites.
o My Apps: Access apps you own or use frequently.
o Filters/Search: Use keywords or filters to narrow down your content.
